Kaliq and I just got back from playing a house concert in Blaine, Washington and had a great time. This Saturday, August 7th we’ve got two shows – and one that’s all ages!



  • Clark County Fair, Ridgefield Washington – noon to 1:00 p.m.


This is an all ages show at the Columbian Family Fun Stage. It’s located in the Jest In Time Circus tent near the Food Court. To get there take I-5 north and take exit 9 on 179th street. Follow the signs to the Fair from there.



  • Buffalo Gap, 6835 SW Macadam Ave, Portland – 9 p.m. to midnight.


This is our first time back at the Buffalo Gap in a while so we’re looking forward to this show. Guitarist Jeff will be out of town so Kaliq will be sitting in for him. He’ll also be singing a bunch of tunes throughout the night! Well-known Portland musician Chris Merrill will be stopping by for an acoustic set in the middle of our show. Chris is a dynamic, fun performer and is a kick to watch. There’s no cover at the Buffalo Gap so we hope you’ll stop on in for a while.

We started talking and realized that I was visiting their hometown of Omaha this summer. Brent and his band Malnack offered to book a show with me and to even back me up on a bunch of my songs. Of course I agreed and we soon picked out songs to work on. As Brent and crew practiced in Omaha, they sent me mp3s of the band practices so I could hear their progress. Last Friday, we all met for the first time at Venue 162 in Council Bluffs, just hours before our show together. We were all pretty nervous about how we'd all gel but after the first couple of songs we felt right at home.  After playing a set with me, Malnack went on to rock out the night. We had an amazing time and we owe it all to Malnack for making the night a huge success!

My new song "Ordinary Day" will be also be featured on a new show on Women of Substance. For the month of March, it will be part of a lineup of songs that address a variety of social issues. My song was written in response to the Virgina Tech shootings. I went to a large university and could envision that same thing happening at my school. In the end, the song deals with healing and trying to move on. The show airs Wednesdays, Saturdays and Sundays from noon to 4:00 p.m. Pacific time.
